The New Facebook Page Layout!

By 5th August 2016 No Comments

It seems Facebook are doing everything they can to stay at the top of the social media food chain, with a new look!

The new desktop Facebook page layout design, which rolled out yesterday, looks cleaner and a lot more CTA (call-to-action) focused.

There aren’t really any new features – Facebook have just decided to have a clean up and reorganise the elements.

Here is what our new page looks like:

So what’s changed and what hasn’t? Here are five things you need to know about the new Facebook Pages layout.

Profile Picture

Page profile pictures now appear at the top left of your Page above the new navigation. No longer will profile images appear over your cover photo.

New Navigation

Below your profile picture and page name you’ll find a new navigation, where users can go to sections of your Facebook page, such as About, Videos, Photos, Posts, and Events.

Your navigation is customisable depending on your type of business.

You can also showcase content from your other social channels (Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube), add reviews and even encourage people to subscribe.

Cover Images

Don’t worry; even though Facebook has removed the profile picture overlay on the cover photo, your cover photo dimensions remain the same (828x315px)

However, if your cover photo was created to work around your profile picture, you may want to redesign.

Call to Action Button

Our favourite part about the new Page layout is the more prominent call-to-action button.

This button can be used for a number of actions, whether you want people to book consultations, watch a video etc. etc.

Pages Are Now Ad Free

Another nice feature with the new layout is no more ads. Previously ads have appeared on the right side, sometimes drawing visitors away from your page to another business.

The removal of ads now ensures page visitors are focused on the business at hand.
